Use this ziplock bag idea to create larger ziplock bags

Storing food in a fridge can be a bit of a hassle if you are mainly concerned about how fresh it will stay over the time, especially with greenies. Imagine buying a beautiful stack of herbs and seeing them fall victim to fridge frost in a single day. It is so saddening to see those lovely greens wilted before you get a single chance to use them.

But then came ziplock bags. They took all that trouble away with a single zip. Just put your fresh foods into the bags, pull the zip close, and you can keep foods fresh with a ziplock bag. No worries about wilted, frosted herbs. But life has a way to make life miserable constantly. How can you keep big lettuce, or a big piece of meat fresh when even the largest zip bags fall shorter?

Again, a BuzzFeed ziplock bag hack came to rescue. With a small little hack that requires nothing from your side, you get an even bigger zip bag to store all kinds of things in your freezer or even outside a freezer. The hack involves zipping together the ziplock bags into one, and hence, larger storage space! You can also keep things safe with a ziplock bag. Let’s see how.

What will you need?

  • Two ziplock bags of any size. (The size doubles as you zip two ziplock bags).

What you need to do

Take two ziplock bags. Take the large item that you want to store inside the ziplock bag. Then flip one of the bags inside out. Bring the zips together, and you will see that now can miraculously zip the two bags together. Hence, you have a ziplock bag hack for larger items!

To keep greens fresh with a ziplock bag

To keep foods fresh with a ziplock bag that is not larger than the food, like lettuces, drumsticks, beans, etc., use this ziplock bag hack. Place the food item in one bag and use another flipped bag to seal it. Hence, you can keep it fresh for a longer time without the greens becoming all wilted and droopy.

To keep meats fresh with a ziplock bag

Use this hack to keep foods fresh with a ziplock bag and store large meats like lamb legs, chicken breasts, etc. Use the same technique of placing the meat in one bag and zipping another flipped bag to seal it. You will have to be cautious when you open the sealed ziplock bags so that the meat does not open, or open only one side of the zip.

To keep things safe with a ziplock bag

Most people can relate to when they accidentally knocked over a mug of coffee onto their keyboards. While it can be good to be a bit cautious when you drink coffee while working, accidents can happen. To keep things safe with a ziplock bag, like a keyboard, use another two ziplock bags and save the keyboard from accidental damages.

Ziplock bags or freezer bags are a great solution to many issues. Use this ziplock bag hack the next time you need something larger to keep a few things safely.
